According to Politico.com, Mr. Owens assured voters that he felt the public option had no place in the health care reform bill. Contrary to that position, Mr. Owens now indicates that he intends to vote in favor of the bill even though it now contains a public option.

Absolutely she would. She might even support him more. Dede wanted the seat to do much the same as Owens. Failing that, she would rather see a liberal Democrat in the seat before a conservative Independent. The GOP establishment in NY-23 would agree, I bet.

Dede would have voted for the bill herself, so she’s probably happy.

At least with Owen it’s not a “bipartisan” vote. If DeDe had won, Pelosi would be crowing about her “bi-partisan” bill.
