Given that, even though he was born here, the family identified themselves as "Palestinian" (technically, there's no such animal, but that's an argument for another day), it's far more likely that his parents taught him that "sticks and stones" were beating Israeli children - but only until he was big enough to handle a gun or a bomb.
At any rate, the media is chock full of lies and inaccuracies on this one. Expect more.
He was a "recent convert to Islam" until his brother told them he was a "lifelong devout Muslim" - OOPS.

On and on..... Bottom line - he was scum, he is scum, and he'll die scum. But it all points to the larger problem of getting a handle on all of this radical Muslim bullshit in this country.
