It turns my stomach when I here this brought up as justification. My father was an embarassing drunk. He was the reason I was picked on a whole bunch when I was a kid. But you know what. When I got sick of it, I took care of it right then and there. Busted my tormentors in the mouth as needed. No shooting trapped, unarmed people in the back, no sheiking "Allah Akbar." Just took care of business.
