Okay, I have been trying to find more info.

Apparently he was an Obama supporter but he was on the governments DHS Policy Institutes Presidential Transition months before the election. I guess every part of government needs a tansition task force. Probably since the primaries were over. From April 2008. It sounds like he was low level though.

There is a thread somewhere.

Hi, Velveeta & Cindy.

Do you happen to have the details about the work that Dr. Hasan did on some committee which set forth a list of security recommendations which was sent to the White House?

I do know that he was NOT working for DHS, but I don't remember the name of the task force (or whatever it was) that he was working on, and I've not seen any list of the other individuals who, along with Dr. Hasan, set forth the proposals. Under what auspices was such work done?? Was it some military team? Or purely medical? OR...??

Do either of you, perchance, have any information about this bookmarked?

Thanks.

Sorry to have bothered you.

Colonel Hunt (contributor to Fox News) hosted the Howie Carr show out of Boston yesterday and kept saying this was not terrorism was just "soldier on soldier". Hunt voted for Obama and wants the troops home. Hunt, WHO IS AN EXPERT BEFORE FACTS WERE IN, kept saying this was not terrorism!!

But this guy was an academic only, poor performance and let's cut to the chase...RED FLAGS WERE THERE! ALLAH PAINTED ON HIS FRONT DOOR. SUPPORT IN ARGUEMENTS OF ISLAM VS AMERICANS. HASAN WAS ALLOWED TO REMAIN AT HIS "JOB".

Hasan's brother said he was picked on and laughed when it was suggested there were possible signs of instablility in his brother. Laughed! as if the coversation was about a stranger and not his brother...a killer.

The military has become so PC..and our men and women need to come home immediately as our appointed leaders may be no better than Obama's SA worry over poll numbers and job security. We cannot continue to leave fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, friends in harm's way when OUR leadership, stopping inside the highest post in the land is so completely INEXPERIENCED.

The one officer who spoke on Hasan had since retired (probably why he can speak), and knew not if anyone had followed up and investigated Hasan's actions/comments from months ago. His conversion to Islam and Anti-American statements.

Mass murder & attempted murder by a terrorist/traitor on our troops at Ft Hood and it only justifies a "moment of silence"? and then you shuffle papers as well during the silence.

The President is the Commander in Chief who's first responsibility during wartime is making decisions that will maintain the utmost safety for our troops abroard and on our bases.

Some victims shot in the back. Methods of a coward. I want no sympathy for this guy!!! Firing squard for the traitor within! This was only a commercial break so back to Heath Care. Sorry Madam Pelosi that you had to take "a moment of silence" and interrupt your "working" day. Michael Jackson received longer moments of silence.

Martha MacCallum Fox:"The shooter believed to be..." ????? CAIR being interviewed "DO NOT JUMP TO ANY CONCLUSIONS? as they and groupls like them cover city buses in major cities with 1-877 WHY ISLAM ???

See MY Rage!!

I think that one was from his Med School. A VT Cadet uniform is fairly distinctive.

hasan needs to be hung - just like Saddam...and we all need to be standing around shouting Republic! Republic! - just like the Mahdi Militia was doing when they shouted Sadr!Sadr!...

Naturally, the Yahoo article doesn’t mention the words, Islam, Muslim, jihad, etc., which are the elephants in the room.

The MSM is suicidally pc, and by continuing to hold this very public stance, they are infecting the public’s opinion with their own cowardly mental aberrations. This, in my view, comes under the definition of “aiding and abetting the enemy”.

They’re little better than Tokyo Rose, as the entire content of their output does more to embolden our sworn enemies, than it does to support our people and our nation’s security.

An article of FR this morning discussed the “cognitive dissonance” being practiced by some Americans in relation to Islam. The left is holding two contradictory concepts in its collective mind - that Islam is a religion of peace, and the indisputable acts of horror committed by Islamists here, and the world over.

I thought that the article perfectly described the schizophrenic (and suicidal) mental state of liberals very well. It’s the sort of mindset that gets people killed, and enlarges the threat from our enemies.

The Medical Corps has its own set of rules when it comes to pay and promotions. This is because doctors generally make so much more money in the civilian world. The military must offer special incentives to get them on board.

Marlowe is right that docs start out at the rank of captain. They move more quickly to major and lt colonel because of the need to get them more income more quickly. There are also a number of pay enhancements added by congress.

That pay + no malpractice insurance + no office staff costs + rotational hours rather than constantly being on call add up to more willing to consider the military.

I don’t think it makes sense for a guy, even if he wanted out of the military, to do what this man did. He had more than enough training to ensure an affluent life. He had more than enough authority to deal with any harrassment for his religion.

I have no doubt that Hasan did what he did for ideological reasons. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

Mullah Omar is also a doc.

Hasan was a terrorist cell of one.

Are you sure? I know that Captain is what an MD gets you in the Air Force. I may be incorrect, I didn’t google it.

Thus stupid Sonofabo!ch walked around a US military base dressed in his Muslim garb for all to see.

Would we have allowed a German soldier during WW2 to walk arounnd a military base in a Nazi uniform?

How friggin stupid has America become to allow this type of BS on a military base.

MARK STEYN: MULTICULTURAL ILLUSIONS KILL - NO STRATEGY TO DEFEND AGAINST IDEOLOGY
dakota beacon ^ | November 06, 2009 | Mark Steyn

Posted on Friday, November 06, 2009 9:36:18 AM by Mount Athos

Thirteen dead and 31 wounded would be a bad day for the US military in Afghanistan, and a great victory for the Taliban. When it happens in Texas, in the heart of the biggest military base in the nation, at a processing center for soldiers either returning from or deploying to combat overseas, it is not merely a “tragedy” (as too many people called it) but a glimpse of a potentially fatal flaw at the heart of what we have called, since 9/11, the “war on terror”. Brave soldiers trained to hunt down and kill America’s enemy abroad were killed in the safety and security of home by, in essence, the same enemy – a man who believes in and supports everything the enemy does.

And he’s a US Army major.

And his superior officers and other authorities knew about his beliefs but seemed to think it was just a bit of harmless multicultural diversity – as if believing that “the Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor” (ie, his fellow American soldiers) and writing Internet paeans to the “noble” “heroism” of suicide bombers and, indeed, objectively supporting the other side in an active war is to be regarded as just some kind of alternative lifestyle that adds to the general vibrancy of the base.

When it emerged early on Thursday afternoon that the shooter was Nidal Malik Hasan, there appeared shortly thereafter on Twitter a flurry of posts with the striking formulation: “Please judge Major Malik Nadal [sic] by his actions and not by his name.”

The above is an excerpt. Go to the link below for Mark’s complete oped.

In this environment, that quote about the feds not immediately investigating this guy when they found the internet postings 6 months ago, is the most troubling part of the whole article.

Unbelievable.
