I know personally at least one lefty who very likely stayed up half the night last night carefully crafting all sorts of convoluted rationalizations why absolutely nothing that this guy did is his own fault.

I know exactly what you mean. My SIL is an extremely over educated lefty who teaches at a community college.
She argued until she was red in the face with my wife about those muzzies in France a few years ago who were burning dozens of cars every night because the Police had the nerve to chase and try to arrest some low life POS while he was committing a crime. Sure, they shot him, but I guess my SIL was under the impression they should have tried to catch him and play patty cakes. And if I remember correctly, the muzzie POS didn't want to play patty cakes.
My SIL refused to admit they were muzzies, refused to admit they were wrong about anything, went on and on about how they were so persecuted and wronged at every step of their meager, good-natured, peaceful existence. They only rioted, robbed people, and burned innocent people's cars because the Police made them do it, etc, etc, etc.
I was about to butt in and break up the argument, but my wife was doing such a good job getting her lefty sis to foam at the mouth, that I just sat back and enjoyed the show.
