Plague is treatable with antibiotics. This ‘plague’ has been called a virus. Viruses are unaffected by antibiotics.
I don’t think we will know for sure what it is until it is post facto. They call it pneumonic plague at one moment and H1N1 the next. The seal off areas then talk of very small numbers of deaths that wouldn’t seem to justify those measures. It is a large third world country with a heritage (70 years of Communism) of obfuscation of the truth as a matter of course regardles of what it is.
