This whole “military all but disarmed when in garrison at home” thing is a child of political correctness. It is an historical anomaly for certain.
Officers and NCOs should be able to carry sidearms.
Honestly, I’m surprised something like this event didn’t happen sooner. The attack on the recruiters earlier this year should have been a wake up call.
