After we lost 3000 people, we didn't turn on the Muslims in our midst.

When our people who helped liberate millions from Saddam--who even those against the war agree was a tyrant--were hung from bridges to dancing and applause, we didn't turn on the Muslims in our midst.

I just wish some of these folks would stand up and say they are part of US instead of always worrying about their little unit with the USA...something no one who considers himself an American ever worries about. We didn't think 9/11 was only about New York.

If these folks ever want to wonder why they even have these unfounded fears, they might want to think about the way Americans treat non-Americans in our midst, as compared to how folks from back home treat outsiders.

RE: Post #22

Very salient points and my thoughts exactly. I am so sick and tired of Americans being labeled bigots. This is the most diverse and culturally sensitive place on the planet.

How long would I last as a white American male in Syria, Egypt, etc.?

I would actually like to see some folks get a little riled up now and then. It might inspire some leadership of the Muslim faith to start demonstrating some patriotism and solidarity among “fellow” Americans here in the US.
