BREAKING: Gerry Connolly Tries To Get Constituent Arrested

Today there are lots of people trying to lobby their elected officials on the health care bill pending in Congress, and Gerry Connolly tried to get one of them arrested on false charges of assault, setting a new standard for utterly abysmal, beyond-the-pale horrible constituent service. This guy is absolutely unbelievable.

Connolly is trying to claim he wasn’t aware anyone would want to meet with him today, and is refusing to talk to anyone standing in the long, long line of constituents that are snaking out of his office door and well down the hallway. Instead, his staffers are telling folks that they need to fill out a form where they can write down what they want to say to him while Connolly hides in his office and won’t talk to anyone. Connolly left his office about an hour or so ago, and a small woman, about 4ft 8in touched his arm, trying to get his attention long enough to say a few words to him as he tried to flee.

Connolly then reacts like he’s been bitten by a snake, and starts ranting on to her that what she did was assault him, that assault is a felony, and he is going to have this woman, who couldn’t have weighed more than 110 pounds ARRESTED. Connolly then charges down the hall yelling to the capitol police, WHO THEN TAKE CONNOLLY’S CONSTITUENT INTO CUSTODY. The police talk to this woman for about two minutes, and people in the crowd who witnessed this event give their take on this. The woman is then released, and allowed back in the line to fill out a form where she can express her opinion.

Meanwhile, Gerry Connolly has retreated to an undisclosed location, far away from his constituents.

Agreed. He won his seat with a hair less than 55% of the vote. McDonnell took his district by a hair more than 55%.

He's on the record, post-election, as saying that the Dems need to pass HRC **NOW** to motivate their base and get them to the polls in 2010. Which is a desperation move spurred by analysis showing him in very dire straits, imho.

This guy is a jerk. We’ve written him numerous letters and all he can respond with is that we need health care sooooo bad. He held his “town hall” meeting in a gated community by invitation only. He held another “town hall” meeting on the telephone opened to invite only where he would read selected questions. When we protested outside his office, he closed it down. I thought it would be a waste of time waiting to see him. I guess I was right.

There always needs to be several cameras going at every point of contact, including a cameraperson waiting to record any camera operator who is disrupted by officials.

Congressman Connolly (aka "Canoli) dines at a local restaurant on Monday evenings where they serve $5.00 Sirloin hamburgers.

It's a good deal.

I also dine there and see him regularly. Recently he was in the restaurant along with Moran (and he and Moran didn't speak), and one other silver-maned US Senator.

These guys all stared at me like they should be afraid, as well they should since I vote.

I've never been introduced to either the Senator nor to Canoli (although I know both). That means my face is on some sort of Leftwingtard Congressional "watch for this picture" thing.

However, I do believe that's the last time Canoli gets to dine at that particular restaurant 'cause if I see him there again I'm gonna' tell.
