No but I wouldn’t mind dying for a cause.

That may be true but it seems doubtful. It really really doesn’t look like there is a divine plan. Still, I’m hoping to be wrong.
Rest assured, God does have a plan. Part of that plan is that all men have their freedom to choose, with related consequences.
It's important not to confuse the consequences of man's choices with what is God's will. They are frequently in conflict, but God is not a micro-managing dictator.
