“I have to show my military ID to get on base and who ever is with me doesn’t have too.”
Same here...in addition to a sticker on the automobile.
Once on base, I even have to show my ID when making a purchase at the commissary or BX!
Not so at West Point where I work.
We have to show/use our ID or CAC card at just about every turn...getting through the gate, getting to our parking “lots”...logging on our compters, sending emails, etc
When my family members (Non-DOD) have to travel in the car with me on post, they have to show Identification....and their license bar code gets scanned in a reader ....
I guess the security/screening levels are different at each post.
We are getting to the point that in less than a year we won’t even be allowed to park adjacent to any of the building.
