Gen. Scales saying the gate guards are civilians,
and apparently you can get on the base with a
driver’s license and car registration. That doesn’t
sound right to me, but I swear that’s what I heard.

The Congressman that represents Fort Hood says to get on the base is difficult.

Bob Scales is saying there is no security and do not check for weapons.

Who is lying?

I’m thinking about a similar plot that was foiled in New Jersey about a year ago. I think some members of the ROP were going to access a military base posing as pizza delivery men.

Gen. Scales saying the gate guards are civilians,

I spent a few days at West Point a couple of years ago. The gate guards there were civilians.

This is fairly typical at most Army bases ... unregistered vehicles (meaning not having the base decals) must stop for inspection. Drivers license & registration are required and the vehicle is inspected, under the hood, trunk, and inside. A pole device with a mirror on the end is used to inspect the underside of the vehicle. Just went thru this routine at a large Army base yesterday ... I was on my way to play golf.

Our local base, Brooks, did that too before it was privatized, they would register you as a visitor based on your ID, although IIRC, the guards were military. Same setup now with civilians. Surprisingly, building security actually has gotten more secure since the city took over the base.

"Schnitt Show" had a caller saying the same thing.
