Culture Buzz Major Malik Nadal Hasan is the suspected gunman in the Fort Hood shootings. ABC News has identified Major Malik Nadal Hasan as the gunman who was killed during the rampage; two other suspects are said to be in custody. Update: The Pentagon has confirmed his identity. He reportedly used two handguns in the attack. Several news organizations are reporting that he was 39 or 40 years old.

Local newscaster is West Point grad, said to be that rank probably ten years in service and several combat tours, maybe PTSD (all speculation)

These quotes from Major General Robert Scales (receiving info from “Fort Hood and from Washington”) in two separate interviews on Fox TV:
“What I heard was, This was not the act of a crazy. This was a very deliberate act. It was very precise, execution-style, as one soldier told me-—that this particular Army major went about his business with great precision. So it was not a random act of violence or apparently not a soldier being affect by something like post traumatic stress distress order. This was a deliberate act of execution.”
