Did you get tested to confirm it’s H1N1? My doctor said many think or are being diagnosed with H1N1 and many are not actual cases of it.

I had the flu last week and I have no idea which strain. But here I am alive after taking the unusual step of bundling up(didn’t break a fever over 100), lying low, sleeping(a lot) and taking it easy.

Easiest flu I ever had in my life. If had just kept on trucking I would have been truly miserable, as I have in the past.

BTW, just read an article about the Finance Wiz’s on Wall Street getting the Swine Flu shot before everyone else and there is a very telling line in the article;

http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE5A44QI20091105

“The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates swine flu has infected more than 5 million people and it is documented as having killed 1,000.”

1,000 deaths out of 5 million infections? Is that a reason to take some experimental goo in your arm? Considering the odds?

What is that 0.0002% deaths (I used a calculator)?

Go ahead and take the experiment if you think the risk is worth it.

I got the H1N1 vaccine Monday at my OB’s office. It gave me a mild case of the flu that lasted about 36 hrs. I was nervous about getting it but my OB strongly encouraged it. Now I’m glad I did because it is really going around her as well.

My doctor said that if you get the flu right now it is most likely H1N1 as regular flu season hasn’t started yet.

After the H1N1 vaccine made me sick, I don’t know if I’ll be able to bring myself to get the regular flu shot when they become available at my OB’s office.
