Really they do care about being reelected. They would love to be able to create their socialist America and remain in DC eating and drinking large. But if they can’t do both, they may think that forcing radical change is more important. Trust me, even if they get voted out, they will make millions doing books and speeches for the fawning lefty audiences. One man’s traitor is another man’s hero.
To tell you the truth I don't know. But it would seems a deliberate procedural 'mistake' that is now common lawsuit fodder.
Maybe I'm giving them too much credit, but I think the dems want to get rid of this thing, yet don't want to anger their hard-core support.
That would be the way to do it.
