I had a black classmate in high school who was a member of the DAR....they are NOT all white.
I’ve read estimates that as much as twenty percent of the population of the original Colonies was black.

And they are NOT all Conservative. I now some very active (younger) DARs who are huge Obama supporters.
Fact is, Obama himself is eligible for SAR membership. His daughters when they reach 18 will be eligible for DAR. Today they are eligible for C.A.R. I don’t see any application papers being filled out in the near future, tho.
