The Bush administration made a mistake when they argued the case about CO2 regulation in front of the Supreme Court. Instead of attacking the non-existent scientific case for global warming, the Bushies took an economic approach and argued that China and other developing countries would just cancel out any reduced CO2 output from the US for economic reasons. That argument lost in the SCOTUS, unfortunately. The Bushies should have gone after the total lack of a solid scientific foundation for global warming theory. I'm afraid the Bush White House was duped by mediocre scientists at NASA and the EPA who are pushing this theory for their own personal benefit, jobs, fame, and fortune. The Bush White House didn't know that global warming theory is based on some of the same equations originally developed in 1921 which a group of Hungarian scientists have shown to be completely wrong, in addition to dozens of other errors in the climate models. (See Sourcery's post.)
This whole story is a bizarre tale of scientific corruption and incompetence gone wild. In the end, despite the manipulations of global-warming nuts, CO2 output will not start to decline for at least another 10-15 years. Then it will start to decline because of shortages of fossil fuels. So ultimately when the earth's temperature doesn't rise in the next 10-15 years, the global warming climate models will be proven wrong, as any smart honest climate scientist can figure out right now if sufficiently motivated.
Until you add the effects of water vapor. That is highly nonlinear, and can't be solved with equations or models with oversimplified weather.

No and no. The warming from CO2 is real and is shown in the equation plotted above, but the feedback cannot be modeled with equations. However, water vapor feedback doesn't appear to follow the alarmist models (no big rise in UTWV seen).
