"We'll always have Paris. We didn't have, we'd lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night."
So famously said Humphrey Bogart to Ingrid Bergman in the marvelous conclusion of one of the greatest films of all time, "Casablanca."
On Wednesday, MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell shamelessly used a version of this line on White House advisor David Axelrod.
During her interview about yesterday's election results, including Bill Owens' victory in New York's 23rd Congressional district, Mitchell asked Axelrod about the Obama campaign documentary aired on HBO Tuesday.

Such a deal.
Come on 2010.
She is heinous.
They are so in denial. They have no clue how utterly stupid they sound.
Andrea Mitchell is disgusting, that’s for sure. But, for some reason, I detest her in a way that far exceeds reason.
I’m a Humphrey Bogart fan, and Casablanca surely is great, but my favorite Bogart movie may actually be The Maltese Falcon.
My list of favorite Bogart films:
The Maltese Falcon
The Big Sleep
Casablanca
Dark Passage
Key Largo
The French Connection
Dead End
Sabrina
Meet the Parents
The African Queen
The Caine Mutiny
What are yours?
To Have and Have Not, In a Lonely Place, and Sabrina
Denial is not a river in Egypt, Andrea.
MSNBC: The “News” channel that didn’t cover the election returns last night.
MSNBC anchors all suck the same Crack pipe.
“Andrea Mitchell is disgusting, thats for sure. But, for some reason, I detest her in a way that far exceeds reason.”
You expressed your feelings about Mrs. Federal Reserve Board Chairman emeritus, which I share, far better than I could have.
Especially when it’s only a year and we’ll have time to prepare for Owens’ rapid departure.
Meet the Parents? I’ve seen almost every Bogart picture but I don’t remember that one.
Your instincts are impeccable. Andrea is the complete liberal package: stuck-up, superior, condescending, stupid, lazy, ugly, out-of-touch, and married to a rich man.
I was joking! I wanted to see if anyone would catch it.
Good call! I forgot about In a Lonely Place. Great picture.
Other honorable mentions:
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (Some say this is not only his best but one of the ten best films ever!)
The Petrified Forest
High Sierra
The Enforcer
Black Legion (This movie has Bogie losing his job to a foreigner and forming a “KKK” type organization - he accidentally kills a pal of his. Ann Sheridan plays the wife of the pal and during the court scene her eyes are welling up with tears and it’s a vision of one of the most beautiful women ever filmed - Ann Sheridan was beautiful to begin with and had a great pair of legs. In fact, Ann Sheridan often was a stand in when directors wanted a photoshot of great legs).
A quick piece of info about Ann Sheridan. She liked to work part time as a clown for children’s parties. Just imagin all the fathers holding parties for their children and not knowing that the lady under all that clown make up is a Hollywood starlet! As for me, I’d look closely at the clown and say “That’s one clown I wouldn’t mind having between the sheets.”
That’s like in Latin class. We’d have to do translations, and we’d stick in lines like, “This is stupid! I am just making stuff up. Blah blah blah.” and get an A, so we knew she wasn’t really reading them. :)
The way you feel about Andrea Mitchell is how I feel about Obama.
‘’ Petrified Forest’’.
