"I won't stand in the way of your desire to be judged by Him according to Natural Law.

You never had the ability or authority. To assume the authority of God is to take the Lord's name in vain.

Don't read English very well do you.

Apparently much better than you write it.

Trite reply. I don't have to judge you nor would I care to. You have already invited the judgment of Christ upon yourself already.

Since you do not believe Jesus Christ, you have chosen to substitute your wisdom for His, and there are consequences for that choice. You have chosen to bring the judgement of Christ upon yourself according to Natural Law even as He has established it.

There are negative consequences for not believing Jesus Christ. You might want to rethink your position.

"Since you do not believe Jesus Christ"

Did the voices tell you that? Here is a clue, I believe Jesus Christ, I just don't believe you or your narrow, self serving, holier-than-thou interpretation of scripture. Now go worry about your own salvation and leave me and the billion+ Catholics alone. BTW, if you ever do get this sorted out and make it to heaven, look me up. I'll buy you a drink.

OK, for the moment let's assume that I don't really believe in Jesus and that I am bound for Hell.

The fact that you are spending some of your time posting on FR means that you have some free time.

Would you care to spend some of your free time explaining to me why it appears to most astronomers that photons have been careening through our universe for billions of years while the presumably correct interpretation of the Bible that you share suggests that the universe has only been around for a few thousand?

Believe it or not I would be very interested in your thoughts on this subject. I am very much open to the possibility that the universe is only thousands of years old. Most of the information I have received to date suggests otherwise. But the information I have received to date is an infinitesimal amount compared to all that there is in our Creator's vast universe. Major scientific theories have been overturned due to small discrepancies in measured data (e.g. Newton's gravitational theories overturned by relativity, etc.) So it is very possible for some new discovery to compel astronomers to rethink their current beliefs regarding the age of the universe.

BTW, I spent my entire undergraduate education as an active member of a Christian organization that was a branch of the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. I was exposed on a weekly basis to the beliefs of evangelical born-again Christians who were strong believers in the five basics of faith, sola scriptura, and similar doctrines. Despite that I retained my Catholic faith especially with the help of the writings of Thomas Aquinas, G. K. Chesterton, John Henry Newman, and what I believe to be a proper understanding of the Bible.

Merely stating or arguing your presumably correct understanding of the Bible isn't going to get me to see the light.

Stating a plausible way to mesh sola scriptura with photons that appear to be billions of years old might at least start getting me to rethink my position.

How too does one reconcile the biblical description of the earth being the center with respect to the sun, moon, and stars? With 21st century knowledge, how can one accept the concept of “stars falling” or bodies rising and setting in the sky as being physically accurate? Does one deny Jesus Christ if one believes that the earth revolves around the sun and that the sun is a minor star at the edge of an insignificant galaxy in a vast universe unknown and unknowable to primitive Hebrews and first century Greeks?

If I see you there, I'll owe you one.

Please see below for an irrefutable proof for the existence of God:

I'm guessing that it will be "on the house".
