It runs more pages than War and Peace, has nearly five times as many words as the Torah, and its tables of contents alone run far longer than this story.
(The House health care bill) unveiled Thursday clocks in at 1,990 pages and about 400,000 words. With an estimated 10-year cost of $894 billion, that comes out to about $2.24 million per word.
.
And for (some members), that may not be enough.
A robust (public option) cant be found in the bill. Neither can the word doctor save for a few references to degrees. No cost curve is bent. No blue pill is dispensed.
Death and taxes are both in there, but death panel is not.

Throw ALL of H.R.3200 and it's appendages out the window - Shred the mess! Shame on our government....Vote them out of Office.
Vote people in who will really reform our Tort Laws and our Insurance laws......Get mad Amrerica....throw the bums out!
Is it not amazing that our Constitution is only 4 pages long and the Bill of Rights is only 1 page long? These people are full of themselves and want to control every aspect of our lives. Enough is enough. Considering the fact that our Constitution and Bill of Rights are for the whole country, the Founders did a much better job than politicians of today.
For perspective:
That is a stack of paper 8” tall and weighing in at almost 19 pounds. The cost of the paper to print out the bill would be just under $20. The cost of the ink to print the bill (depending on your source) would be about $5.
The average reader reads 200 WPM with about 60% comprehension for information and content (not leisure). It contains an estimated 400,000 words.
To understand the bill would take more re-reading and page flipping (far more effort) than typical reading word for word for comprehension.
I therefore, surmise that the finest readers in the world would take about 40 hours of reading in order to pass a test that would require 75% comprehension.
A week of non stop reading for 8 hours a day? If they take notes, it would likely quadrupel the time.
I would like Republicans to insist and execute a complete reading of the entire bill on C-span from cover to cover with every referenced section being re-read as it is referenced. This would be a true filibuster and cannot be stopped. I would volunteer 4-hours of my time for a session if asked.
If someone will pay me $75/hour and cover my travel expenses I will quit my job and read it aloud myself to our government as much as my energy will allow me in consecutive days. To speed things up, bring me lunch and I’ll read it with my mouth full of subway sandwich during lunch breaks.
