"It's a personal rejection of us and our relationship, and I don't understand what the fear is."

Wow.
These pervs are clinically insane.
Fear?
What fear?

Loathing and disgust is more accurate (for the losers who must be militant and whine in public).
As for rejection, get used to that too. You have as much right to reject me as I do to reject you.

But neither of us has the "right" do demand acceptance and respect. Those are earned, not legislated. Deal with it.

They aren’t seeking legality, they’re seeking acceptance, for the most part. And some are intentionally seeking the destruction of the institution as a whole.

Bingo!

And its not so much acceptance, which they can never get; it can't be legislated.

It's more taking away from others what they can never have; confounding perversion with millenia of human culture simply doesn't matter. And religions are big targets because they stand in the way of their hijacking a simple word.

The problem with same-sex “marriage” is its consequences for society.

It enshrines a redefinition of marriage in the law that makes marriage purely adult centric, separating it from the interest of begetting children and preserving those childrens' ties--- so far as possible --- with their natural fathers and mothers, their siblings, and their whole extended families.

It would be taught in the schools and make it discriminatory to highlight and promote real (man-woman) marriage. Same-sex "marriage" also requires denying or minimizing the significant benefit which every child enjoys of having a father and mother who are married to each other.

Same-sex "marriage" also threatens religious liberty and isolates citizens, churches and organizations that refuse to cooperate with it as a matter of conscience.

yes they can if they are included in the agreement.

This can also be done FOR FREE via healthcare surrogates which most hospitals will also provide free of charge.

(even married couples should do them in order to name an alternate surrogate in the event the husband or wife in incapable of making decisions.)

“Dude. You forgot the < /sarc > tag...”

Guilty as charged. When I scribble things that in my view no sane person could possibly believe with a straight face, adding /sarc too often feels like writing “This is red” on a Stop sign.

But having inadvertently committed a pathetic arithmetic error, I shoulda just quit while I was ahead and conceded my mistake instead of leaving readers to wonder “Jeez, if the guy can’t even add 31 and 29 correctly (and won’t even acknowledge when this is pointed out), maybe he DOES believe this nonsense he’s writing.” Sorry for wasting anyone’s time or bandwidth on this.

Just checking. The gays I talked with to were complaining they couldn’t get the same visitation rights in a hospital or make the same legal decisions as a spouse without a power of attorney or some such.
I was trying to give them some credit, but if they have easy options like this, it sounds like they’re just trying to degrade and devalue marriage.

On first glance, I misread it as "Dejection fills bathroom after gay marriage vote".

That's funny: I saw it exactly the same way.

Of course, there probably was a good deal of dejection in there as well. I'll bet there wasn't a dry fly in the house.

the access to hospital is 100% BS.

it can be done for FREE and even if you are a normal unmarried couple that just lives together.

You don’t need a laywer.
You don’t need a form service.
You don’t need to pay money.

YOu just have to want it and ask for it.

the author of this editorial is a homosexual.

The margin was about 5% or so. IOW only a judge can now reverse the reversal.

This is pure nonsense on the homosexuals. It also means parents have to take the lead to counter the indoctrinations into perversions of the schools.

Why is the author adovcating sexual behavior for children? (see: duh.)

"I'm ready to start crying," said Burnett, a 58-year-old massage therapist, walking out of the ballroom

I'd be too, seeing a nice ballroom carpet littered with D-batteries.

Don’t post that kind of graphic garbage here.

Admitted Lame graphics, sure...but this rude moderator public smack down was uglier and seems out of character for FR. A moose trying to mount a statue of a bison, with nothing "Graphic" showing does not strike me as obscene. But what do I know...the daily hottie threads with chicks in camel toe bikinis I don't mind so much either.

Listen, my teenager needs to be corrected from time to time but I try not to admonish him in the yard in front of his friends.

But hey, mod, this is your world...your football and all I should really say is "Aye aye, sir (or ma'me)...three bags full.

And thanks for the due respect!

I can’t leave well enough alone. I looked up ‘moose trying to mount a statue of a bison’ and LMAO! Nothing is safe when a moose is looking for love.
