It seems that there are two sides to this story. Please take a look at the linked video. Starting at 13 minutes and running to the end there is considerable discussion of immigration as well as the FLIMEN bills. Most telling is Rubios statement that the same bills are trying again and won’t pass this time either (in either house). He, of course, is no longer in state government. So what did he do this year? Place a curse on the legislation with his decoder ring? His contention is a very short legislative calendar (60 days) and the inability of the proponents to consolidate the six bills into one for efficiency in a crowded calendar will likely doom them to the dustbin until their supporters use their heads. Neither of us were there for this whole legislative flap, but I think the accusation that Rubio caused the bills’ demise is less likely than the logistics of dealing with six bills instead of one. Finally, read FLIMEN’s accusations carefully. Nowhere do they identify real actions by Rubio that caused their legislation to fail. They imply a vast conspiracy but have no real evidence.
