I'm not a big believer in boycotts in that there is little evidence that they are effective.
However, over the years I have read about conservative boycotts of various businesses on the pages of FR, and it seems that those who are participating gain some satisfaction from their effort.
So, perhaps a few gay groups are boycotting businesses that contributed to the Prop. 8 Campaign and just maybe those gays and their sympathizers are gaining some satisfaction from their boycott effort.
And I am sure that those who donated to the Prop. 8 Campaign were informed by Prop. 8 Campaign officials that the names of donors would become public and those good people donated, knowing what the repercussions would be.

No doubt their actions pacify the anger they feel after seeing defeat but realizing it will more then likely be back on the ballot yet again it probably isn’t the wisest approach at this point.
