That's rather an inherent contradiction, is it not? And to correct the statement, they are not "affirming the sovereignty of God", but instead affirming their belief in the literal truth of scripture. They are not the same.

Yes, they start with the affirmation that the Bible is literally true, then they interpret the Bible in a narrow way, and then they set out to “prove” its truth by nitpicking real science.
