Wow, 1st?
Thanks for the thread WCG, let’s go racing!
Dodge Challenger testing at Dega yesterday.
Mustang
PING - Texas Racing this weekend
I just never can get in quick enough.
I can never be first either....
No okra for me.....
Nice looking cars! but can they fly upside down backward at 150 mph, right themselves and win races? CoTank The
Next Generation :-}
Have you ever thought about working for a living???
...pinching pennies.
NASCAR though now has a problem on its hands. They have visually attractive and realistic looking Nationwide cars competing with the less than handsome Cup Series COT.
After meetings this past week with drivers and team officials, NASCAR said they would make changes in 2011 to the front fascia of the Cup Series COT, presumably to make them look a little better up against the Nationwide COT. Lets hope the changes are enough.
At the end of the day, because of the quest for very close competition and the need to have templated bodies in that series, we felt that by forcing the Camaro into the Nationwide templates that we were compromising the body lines of an iconic car. So at the end of the day we just could not get the Camaro in the Nationwide series to satisfy our requirements.
Its understandable they didnt want to murder the body lines of a car theyve been working on for many years. Still how cool would that have been?
Four Chevrolet teams and drivers participated: Richard Childress Racing (Jeff Burton), Kevin Harvick Inc. (Kevin Harvick), JR Motorsports (Kelly Bires) and Phoenix Racing (James Buescher). The test roster also included two Roush Fenway Racing Fords (Colin Braun and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.), a Penske Racing Dodge (Justin Allgaier) and a Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota (Trevor Bayne).
Daytona International Raceway will host the Car of Tomorrows (and Mustangs) Nationwide debut in July 2010 followed by the Aug. 14 event at Michigan International Speedway, the Sept. 10 race at Richmond International Raceway and at Lowes Motor Speedway on Oct. 15. Full integration of the new car into the NASCAR Nationwide schedule is targeted for the 2011 season.
NOTE: I have read and you can see there is NO wing so this car should not go airborne like the CUP car AND there are no bumpstops - hallelujah [one of the worst things on the Cup car to adjust!!!]
April is my race because Jr runs NW too :) More bang for the buck
NW CoT has no wing. Wonder why? Because it doesn’t work LOL or I should say it does work to give lift to the car when it turns backwards.
We wanted to start conservative, because this was the first time weve had these cars on a superspeedway, said Nationwide Series director Joe Balash. So we put a tapered spacer on the car, and then we put a restrictor plate under the tapered spacer. We made a gear change along the way to work on the RPMs of the car. Were trying to balance our speeds and our RPMs.
We want this engine package to be the same RPM ranges we race everywhere else.
NASCAR vice president of competition Robin Pemberton was pleased with the early results.
My grandson works for the Dodge dealer and they had a couple of Challengers on the floor and the sticker price was $55,000 +...
Thanks for the ping...thread looks great!
Like the Camaro , not priced for the peeps ,I am afraid . at least not this peep . I was saving to give myself a Vette for my 60th birthday , and my bank account looks more Mustangish . If only 6 bangers are in my price range I will put my head in the oven with the B-day cake . Happy Trails .
Don’t make the same mistake I made and forget to turn the gas on...
Thanks :)
Hey, I was prepping for my examine/interview and I just happened to look up; all of you gentlemen can have my Okra. I’ll go for the dessert.
T.B., Is another name for “you’re way to qualified with way too much experience” a subtle way of saying I’m too old? I didn’t wear my Rush Limbaugh tie this time.
If you light the candles before you put your head & cake in the oven you can get a twofer. Just trying to help....
Speaking of help WCG put a couple of great links on another thread re: complaints about the state of affairs in NASCAR from Kyle Petty, Jimmy Spencer & Larry Mac & NASCAR’s response.
