Years ago, a guy getting an incentive flight in an F-4 pulled the ejection handle while taxiing out to the runway. Fortunately, there was an interlock preventing ejection with the canopy up.

Unfortunately, it ended the incentive flight program...and the next guy in line was a bodybuilder. He beat the snot out of the guy.

I remembering hearing about a backseater ejecting from an F-4 that just touched down, while I was stationed at Ubon.....seems it just got too “hot” for him...there was some sort of damage to the aircraft and he was literally starting to cook....hit got two swings on the chute and then runway....I believe he broke an ankle....
