“Who wouldn’t do that if they thought they could get away with it and not have to pay the expenses?”

If you ever knew anyone that had ejected you wouldn’t say that!

“Journalists”... the Pilatus isn't a jet , it's a turboprop.

Sweet looking bird, almost has a P-51 look to it.
I’d love to go up in it.

He was lucky to walk away unhurt. Most ejections result in back and neck injuries, or leg and ankle injuries. If he had been in a jet aircraft going several hundred miles per hour, he would not have escaped without injury.

I found a pilot within 10 minutes of ejection here in the US and he was pretty messed up. It’s as though he just awoke from a coma. His F-16 just spiraled down.

Only an idiot. You can lose limbs during an ejection.

“Ok, shouldn’t be like a step or two on that function?”

There are.

You hear the missile approach warning go off, the pilot says “oh sh!t!” and out you go.

Seriously, when it’s time to get out, it’s time to get OUT.

A lot of bad things can happen if it isn’t done right or at high jet speeds but it doesn’t seem to have hurt this guy.

I would think it would be “approximately 300+ feet into the air”.

...probably natural "booster" when his sphincter muscle relaxed

There's probably a little more to this story than is out there. If you are sitting in an ejection seat all relaxed and it 'accidentially' goes off there's a risk of neck and back injuries plus losing an arm or leg when blasted out of the jagged confines of the cockpit. People have punched out of airplanes in the proper tucked position and braced for impact, did everything right and haven't come out of it without any injuries. Color this guy very lucky or a major scammer.

The real story was probably something like, "Hey what would happen if I pulled this lever?" Other guy, "I don't know why don't you try it and see what happens." "OK, Watch this." Whoosh "Bye."

I remembering hearing about a backseater ejecting from an F-4 that just touched down, while I was stationed at Ubon.....seems it just got too “hot” for him...there was some sort of damage to the aircraft and he was literally starting to cook....hit got two swings on the chute and then runway....I believe he broke an ankle....
