The ad’s a hoot. No wonder they’re mad and Christie waited until now to play it.

Why else would Christie's campaign have produced a spot lifting old Monty Python footage wholesale while attacking Senator Corzine's alleged plans to hike tolls? It's all about giving the people what they want. And in a rough and tumble state like Jersey, you can't be sweating the small stuff like copyright laws either. Well he didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition over it.

Oh, what sad times are there when passing ruffians can say “Ni!” at will to old ladies! There is a pestilence in this land! Nothing is sacred!
Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history!

Yeah, like comedians never steal jokes from each other.
Copyright? What copyright?

Well maybe come Wednesday morning, when they speak of Corzine's campaign they can say that...
It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed him to the perch he would be pushing up the daisies! Its metabolical processes are of interest only to historians! It's hopped the twig! It's shuffled off this mortal coil! It's run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This.... is an EX-GOVERNOR!

Wow!! I am afraid to fart or take a dump in NJ in fear of breaking some new law or infringing on a copyright!

Interesting that the guy in the sketch is none other than Michael Palin.
Probably just a coincidence

Clever commercial. No doubt Palin or Cleese were watching New Jersey TV and found the ad! Clearly no one from the Corzine left would have contacted a Python rep to start some sort of pointless attack piece on HuffPo!
