Response to Vice President Biden's Comments Today About My Position On Energy Independence (Palin Be

Palin's Latest Facebook Note

As the vice president knows, I have always advocated an all-of-the-above approach to American energy independence. Among other things, my alternative energy goal for Alaska sits at 50 percent because Alaska reached more than 20 percent during my term in office. The Obama-Biden administration, on the other hand, recently announced a renewable goal of only 25 percent. However, domestic drilling should remain a top priority in order to meet America’s consumption and security needs.

The vice president’s extreme opposition to domestic energy development goes all the way back to 1973 when he opposed the Alaska pipeline bill. As Ann Coulter pointed out, “Biden cast one of only five votes against the pipeline that has produced more than 15 billion barrels of oil, supplied nearly 20 percent of this nation’s oil, created tens of thousands of jobs, added hundreds of billions of dollars to the U.S. economy and reduced money transfers to the nation’s enemies by about the same amount.”

This nonsensical opposition to American domestic energy development continues to this day. Apparently the Obama-Biden administration only approves of offshore drilling in Brazil, where it will provide security and jobs for Brazilians. This election is about American security and American jobs.

There’s one way to tell Vice President Biden that we’re tired of folks in Washington distorting our message and hampering our nation’s progress: Hoffman, Baby, Hoffman!

What is this - feed the troll day? Look - she’s said time and again she wants to drill (’drill baby drill’ - ring any bells).

Now simmer down and let us enjoy Palin once again verbally pwning Biden.

Which is obviously why she started out talking about "all of the above." I get it ... you read into her posts, whatever you want them to say. I begin to realize that to folks like you, Sarah Palin is like Chauncey Gardiner with breasts.

Now simmer down and let us enjoy Palin once again verbally pwning Biden.

Yawn....

If you’re in an exec master’s program, you’ll have a huge conservative audience. I couldn’t keep my opinions silent. Just give your prof a copy of the federalists papers. Don’t suck up, and don’t give an inch, they’ll never know we’re here if you are silenced, we need to voice freedom! Being a Masters student, you need to appeal to his ‘higher learning and diversity’ and ask him to discuss the fed papers with your class as opposed to socialism. I did a master’s degree, grad 2000, things sure have changed, even in this short period of time.

“So pony up, Sarah.” Why not blog on KOS? This is a conservative site (most times). Your points are weak and do not address the issues IMHO. She told us what she had done and recommended for the country. How did you miss it? After all she had a character limit. Oh yes, you missed it because you don’t want to see it.

"Presidential" in Sarah Palin's case would involve demonstrating that she is an intellectually serious person who is able to formulate, articulate, and carry out serious policies on a very broad range of issues. She gave up her best chance to do that when she resigned as governor. Facebook postings and speeches to party faithful are a mighty poor substitute for actual political leadership. She's got her work cut out for her, and stuff like this isn't going to help.

OK, I'll take the hatebait.

IMHO, she did a great job as Governor and showed that she can be a serious Executive that gets results. Obviously with all the phony ethics claims against her that were never going to stop, she was going to look even less "presidential" fighting phony claim after phony claim. She fell on the sword for her State and did the right thing by stepping down. Will it cost her in the long run.....who knows but she really had no choice...again IMHO.

Now r9etb, you are her campaign manager and here we are 3 years away from election day 2012. What do you suggest she do that she hasn't or isn't already doing? Remember, you don't want to peak too early (right Hitlery) or too late.

OK, here is my last IMHO.....IF IF IF the Republicans take the House back, she should run for Speaker.....Flame away!!!

Mitt, Huck, Palenty, and that ilk don’t have the background or qualifications for President.
They would be lucky to draw 100 people to a rally.
Smooth talkers won’t cut it.

They didn’t have the courage to serve their country, nor the courage to speak up or as one at the last min. to support the conservative Republican vs two left wing hacks
in a congressional election.

If you want ivy league elites, Lincoln wouldn’t have been your guy.

I laugh at the Palin bashers, always afraid to state who they are for or give the lame comment, to early to support someone.

Check out the numerous op-eds she's written if you are unfamiliar with her ideas regarding energy and oil production.
Because you are not personally familiar with them doesn't mean she should have to include them again in every facebook item she posts.
Trying to pretend this one blurb she wrote should be be an all encompassing strategic plan to achieve energy independence is either naive or dishonest.

“It’s just not a fair fight.”

And she’s hot. Hotter and smarter than anything they could hope to come up with. Ann Coulter’s never had kids, which was the excuse for Ann being hotter and smarter than anything the left could come up with.

Palin’s had kids, and she’s better looking than her husband, which is a tall order, smarter, and maybe tougher.

This was from Palin’s Facebook page and as such is followed primarily by her supporters and people familiar with both her policies/ideas and the day-to-day beatings she takes in the MSM. No doubt many of them know about Biden mocking her “drill baby drill” slogan. I think that’s what she was addressing and alluding to, for the most part.
The demand for specific, detailed policies seems somewhat premature. She is not a presidential candidate, after all, no matter how much the media can’t leave her alone (despite their hatred).

I disagree that she gave up her “best chance” for presidential aspirations when she resigned the governorship. But I do agree with you that she has a long road ahead with the electorate at large. She has handled herself with extreme professionalism and decorum to this point, IMO, and has certainly come farther than any other politician I can think of might have, under similar attack. I think many people from outside the conservative base may be willing to give her a second look, esp. as we go further into the morass of Obamaconomics.

Reagan oft used bon mots to emphasize a point. Was he not acting presidential?

Reagan had the advantage of a long political pedigree, including two full terms as governor of California; and decades of written and spoken political commentaries that had established his intellectual bona fides.

Sarah Palin doesn't have that luxury right now. She's got to lay serious groundwork among the general public, and she's not doing it.
