Indeed, a slim minority are innocent.
I don’t pretend to explain.
However, are you attempting to deny that the AIDS epidemic is a natural consequence of male homosexual promiscuity, or that the vast majority of those with AIDS are “MSMs”?

For ever gay harassed by straights on the job, there are five Christians harassed by gays.

COWER FROM THE DEVIL????!!!???... This is a policy issue for a business....if you wanna go this way, alright....this kid did not cower from the devil, kudos for him...but he paid a price for confronting the devil, he lost his job..with all due respect for you and your religious beliefs, you are an idiot....
I fail to see the "due respect" you have given me by calling me an "idiot." But Peter Vadala
only lost his job (many
saints have lost their
lives standing up for Christ) which has already been replaced, and by standing up for Christ (no doubt this kid has done this before), he has inherited the Kingdom. On this
Feast Day of Holy Souls, I quote John Paul II: "Be not afraid."

BTW: Lived in Kerrville back in the 80’s. Loved it down there! Though the dear were a little scrawny when compared to the corn fed Illinois monsters. ;)

I just looked at the MA Jobs Postings Requirements we have on our cafe wall. An employer may not ask about religios beliefs, let alone act against them. The state should act against Brookstone.

Fortunately for you, there are some of us "idiots" left, for whom company policy is not law and cowering before perverts not a way of life.
So don't fret. Though you shrink from the fight, we'll still stand firm.

The AIDs epidemic is primarily a gay male generated epidemic. It will primarily stay in the homosexual community. The threat to the heterosexual community has been exaggerated.
There are two different groups receiving the same penalty, yet you attempt to explain why one group is receiving a penalty. How can you pretend to know how to explain one, but, not the other?
I don’t think you can explain either.
The last word is yours.

now i am really confused........where in any of my posts did i say i “shrink from the fight”.....i believe you will not find those words, or any reference to those words or that line of thought anywhere in my posts. another poster used religious arguments in their post, in an intellegent way, offering up solutions instead of open ended arguments that have nothing to do with this thread. I get sick and tired of “thumpers” hijacking threads and then offering nothing to the debate but quotes and rhetoric...the kid violated company policy, and i offered up a way he could have avoided losing his job..after losing his job another poster offered up a way to fight what happened to him. what intellegent, rational ways have you or the poster that was an idiot offer up? not a damn thing.....

Dealing with this sort of thing requires wisdom... keep in mind Christ's admonition
"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces." and recall when the Pharasies tried to entrap him, he did not respond with a direct answer to their attempt, but with
"let those who have not sinned cast the first stone". So, sometimes confrontation is not the correct action. But, as I said, every situation requires wisdom.
--
"He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters" --Matthew 12:30.
Remember Carrie Prejean? -- ("I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," she said on the live broadcast. "No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised.")
Now she could easily (or could she?) have answered her question in a more "wise" fashion (is Perez Hilton considered swine?).
ALL the work that goes into being a prize-winning beauty queen (which is another topic altogether as to the importance of same) and it IS indeed work, was blown by one simple Christian answer. But
because of her Christian answer, she has made a more important impact (breast implants aside!) on others who read about her story.
I don't think one should assume they are throwing their pearls to pigs until they have first tried talking about (in Christian fashion!) their love of Christ the King. And Brookstone has now shown (through this man's actions) they are no place for a "True" Christian to work. If being a hooker was the only way you could make a dime, would Christ want you to do so just to support the family? I go with the kid's response. Maybe he didn't handle the situation with true wisdom (lower-case w), but he probably has a better job now anyway. I like his style.:)

Nuts to the company’s policy. Hopefully, he’s better off working for someone else. At least he has a good conscience on this matter. I would like to think I would have the backbone he had,if placed in a similar situation. And I think a lot more people are going to have to make choices like this in the future.

A manager harrassed an employee over his religious beliefs. The manager should be fired.

As soon as Vadala voiced his religious opposition, she should have backed off. She came back five times PERSECUTING him like she was Caligula. He should hold a sign outside.

Carrie Prejean was right-on in her response. I never said otherwise. I don’t quite get the whole Christian boob job / beauty queen thing, but whatever, I give her all the creds in the world.
I also was not critical of the young man for defending marriage. My only point was, he got set up by the lady, and telling her his opinion without being asked played into her hands.
I certainly wasn’t implying that he should have denied his Christianity in any way in order to save his job or anything else. Which is what I gather you think I meant. My whole point was that he should have realized she was trying to trap him and I thought he could have found a way to let her know his opinion without it leading to him getting fired.
Besides, neither one of them mentioned Christ in their initial responses that I’m aware of, and, there are plenty of non-Christians who do not believe in gay “marriage”.
Regardless, he will no doubt end up better off and we now know where that store stands on the issue. So, maybe he was wiser than I gave him credit for.

I agree, Carrie Prejean's answer was right-on. It seems most everyone listens to pretty people more intently. That's why Mother Teresa, who said, "the fruit of abortion is nuclear war," was mostly ignored, yet, we've had abortion for well past 30 years now in America and if nuclear war isn't at our doorstep, I haven't been reading FreeRepublic closely enough.
But back to this cat who got canned. Yes, of course, the lesbian manager was goading him. And he could have just walked away, but I'm happy he didn't because it is a good situation not so much for HIM to learn by, but for US to learn by. Because things of this nature are going to go on and get worse and worse (unless we pick up
rosaries and pray and pray) ... until our next civil or "nuclear" war.
