It gets even better. He is a Duke 2005 Theater major who took a year off to see the world.

I am sure both institutions are proud of their graduate.

He is wearing a Harvard shirt in his perp walk photo. It sounds like he is newly minted (2005 + 3 years for school + 1 year to travel around the world).

I wonder if he has even taken the bar yet. Can you take the bar with a felony conviction???

On the plus side, really big plus, one less Harvard lawyer.

I believe you can take the test, but he might have a hard time getting admitted to the bar.

My nephew graduated in ‘99 and aced the exam, but wasn’t admitted until 2001 because of some youthful indiscretions; no felonies that had happened 10 years prior to his graduation.

Per the article, he had moved to New York to accept a position with a law firm. Per the ABA Journal http://www.abajournal.com/news/sidley_austin_summer_associate_suspected_of_setting_fire_to_9-11_chapel/ the firm was Sidley Austin (a biggie) where he’d worked as a summer associate before receiving the permanent job offer (now rescinded). He would have taken the bar over the summer, following graduation, and wouldn’t have been offered the job if he hadn’t passed. But it won’t do him any good now.

Apparently his only other qualification is “gay activist”, but there aren’t a lot of paying jobs in that field, and plenty of applicants who don’t have arson on their resumes.
