Texas inacted such limitations several years ago, under Gov. Rick Perry, and it has resulted in a reduction in malpractice insurance fees for medical professionals, thus lowering the costs to patients for treatment while permitting the medicos to maintain their net incomes. ....Bonus was that it stopped the “ambulance chasers” from seeking exhorbitant judgements that previously had been given by jurors who fell for the sob stories. .......Several other States have done the same.
