US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Saturday night rejected Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's demand that Israel freeze all settlement activity as a precondition to negotiations.
Stopping construction in the settlements "has never been a precondition, it has always been an in issue within the negotiations," Clinton said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
In a strong show of support for Israel, she said she approved of Netanyahu's decision to issue a moratorium on new construction permits.
"What the prime minister has offered... a restraint on the policy of settlements, which he has just described, no new starts, for example, is unprecedented in the context of prior to negotiations," Clinton said, in advance of her meeting with the prime minister.

Shillary Klintoon meets Uncle Bibi in Jerusalem.
This Palestinian boy hates Uncle Bibi. How anti-Semitic.
Plus, she still has more cojones in her lockbox then the whole cabinet has in their pants.
The hell with this disgusting woman, that Bibi would even be seen with her.
Sickening.
She was for the freeze before she was against the freeze.
Did she tell Zero what she was going to do?
Do not know why Israel doesn’t just wipe the pali dogs off the face of the earth.
Public opinion be damned.
These pali dogs have been fomenting murder against Jews forever and then make demands.
On the MacLaughlin Group, her Hillary-Pillory of the Paki gov’t — how by now they must know where bin Laden is — was discussed (such as the MG *can* manage to discuss anything); in doing that, she was following the Obama line. During the campaign, Obama said he’d send troops to Pakistan, the place where he once spent an unexplained vacation using money from undisclosed sources. The administration went far out across the green line, attacking Israel, attacking Likud, and trying to embrace the terrorists. I think they’ve concluded that they’ve done enough of that, and that no negotiated settlement is possible.
So, what are all those US troops still doing in Iraq?
Will they be liberating Iran, as I’d hoped and perhaps others had hoped?
Or will they be used as the cannon fodder, er, manpower to enforce another pointless UN non-military toothless fake police action in the Middle East?
