USSR, 1959: I am a "young pioneer" in school. History classes remind us that there is a higher authority than their parents and teachers: the leaders of the Communist Party.
The story of young pioneer Pavlik Morozov is required reading. Pavlik reported his father to the secret police for disobeying government regulations. His life exemplified the duty of all good Soviet citizens to serve their government.
From the first year in school, all of us are made aware of our ethnicity (ethnic Russian, Jewish, Asian, etc.) and class (proletariat, intelligentsia), around which society is structured. This inherent divisiveness makes it easy for the government to stir ethnic and class tension and in this way distract from economic failure.

Thank you for posting this - excellent article because so many today are so ignorant of what life was/is like under full blown communism.
Most on FR understand and that is why Zero and his Obamunists are so opposed.
But many “progressives” (too nice a term) of today still do not SEE where we are headed, still convinced - by their continued drinking of the MSM koolaid - that Zero is hated because he is black! or because he is pro-gays! or because he is against the Iraq war.
I gave up sending articles to my liberal relatives long time ago since all it does is go right over their heads into the reject bucket.
But this one, I am going to send!
Thanks again. THIS is why Obama and his associates are so hated - we are fast heading towards life in communist America!

The Morozov story has a happy ending: his neighbors killed the little shit.

I couldn't agree more. In the Soviet Union, there was also not enough food to feed the people ...ever. Toliet paper was a luxury. There were no restaurants for the vast majority of the people...and if they existed, there was no food to serve. People still live in government housing that looks remarkably like the public housing of the Great Society here in the US. Most people in the US would consider it ghetto housing and yet people with excellent jobs in Russia have no other choice but to live there. Travel is still restricted by lots of rules and a lack of roads that are believed to be controlled by highwaymen.
All those things that academic “progressives” seem to enjoy...travel, good food, upscale housing is never a reality for anyone but the highest and most elite of government workers in any model of progressive reality. Perhaps the question we should ask of progressives is what exactly this deluded vision they have of utopia would look like. What would the housing be? What would food be? I think that they envision this precious world of trendy, but small food stores with organic produce and tiny, but chic apartments. The reality would be Walmart with only one choice of any item at a prohibitive cost and Denny's with only one item on the menu if they were lucky. True progressives would love Walmart and Waffle House....but academics have utter disdain for the common man's life.

Very well said.
Totally agree.
(And I did send the article link to all my liberal relatives - so far none have responded. We’ll see what they say. They may just not respond. And I consider these loved ones DECEIVED...primarily because they ONLY listen to NPR, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, etc. They REFUSE to look up and find out the facts).

Yes thanks for that link.
Progressives = Socialists = Communists
Realize there are some minor distinctions, but not many that matter.
What is different about Obama is that he has OPENLY surrounded himself with people who OPENLY claim to be communists and/or to admire Mao (Van Jones, Anita Dunn) to name two of the high profile ones....and of course Valerie Jarrett herself who wanted very much for Van Jones to be in their administration and whose father (or father in law?) was a member of the communist party in the US.
But, then, what should we expect from a man who was practically raised by Frank Marshall Davis, Communist Party member???
And, yes, it is not just Obama but the entire Dem party.
They should be renamed the Communist Party in America.
