When people lose the ability to utilize cause and effect, they lose the ability to fix something that is broke. States dominated by liberals are almost universally failing, but for some reason the residents just don’t get the connection.

I'm not so sure that's the reason. I think that it is because of two things:

First, that dem controlled areas tend to bring in and and create more and more useless people who see government as their savior, or people who are getting fat from the government trough, and at the same time, they so punish responsible, productive people, that those people move out of that state.

Second, once they have control of a state or municipality, their corruption of campaign financing, media coverage, and widespread vote fraud almost guarantees that the people who want to vote them out, have virtually no chance of doing so.

Living in NJ, I see this first-hand. Everyone whines about the taxes, but then they go out and keep voting for dems. After a while, you resign yourself to putting up with it until you can move someplace else.
