They want a war.

They might get one, if this passes.

Heck, why don’t these idiotic morons just tax or penalize EVERYTHING?

Then maybe what I have long been telling my wife for years will come true. =.=

Buried deep in the House health care bill is a provision, likely to raise nanny-state hackles, requiring fast-food chains and vending machine owners to notify customers of calorie counts -- by conspicuously posting nutritional information on menus or machines.

Thats between me and my vending machine, it's my body!

Government back off!

Sheesh - we are supposed to read about the fat content at McDonalds, but they can’t even be bothered to read the bills that they vote on.

When are they going to pass a bill that they must read and understand every bill that they vote on?

Why don’t they just take all our money and give us back what they think we should have.

“particularly among inner-city folks whose diets are disproportionately composed of cheap, tasty, calorie-loaded Big Macs, Whoppers and Chalupas.”

It's class warfare — champagne liberals vs. the common man.

The burger meals at fast-food joints don't contain any more calories or fat, than the steak and baked potato dinners, served at the white-table-cloth restaurants, favoured by the urban elite nanny-state liberal/fascists.

No where in the health care discussion that is being discussed on Fox or talk radio is the effect it will have on Tricare for Life that retired Military personnel and their families depend on.

Those of us on Tricare For Life (military health ins) + Medicare part B are going to get triple whammied with the cuts, increases in co-pays, and deductibles plus the taxes on medical devices we seniors need to make our lives more livable.

Obama and the democrats really care for our senior citizens and retired military don't they....and NO pay raise for those of us on SS for the next 2 years, BUT congress gave themselves a hefty pay raise and MORE perk money. Just a tiny $250 sop, not even a months worth of groceries!

This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

They won’t let us show a pregnant mother at an abortion facility what she is about to have killed, but they want us to show this?

You think that’s bad, Sweden just passed a law mandating that all products that are edible, both packaged and fresh, have to have a Global Warming/CO2 indice posted on them, so Swedes can decide if they want to purchase a bean grown down the street that has a low rating or a steak grown in Brazil, butchered in Red China, packaged in India and flown to Sweden, with the concomitant increase of Death To Our Planet!

The zombies interviewed about this law all said they’d be careful to avoid meat and imported items, and jusy eat local foods and grains.

I suspect this is but the first step to banning high-indice foods or taxing them, or granting rationing cards for, say, one t-bone steak from Argentina per six-month period.

It;s amazing, the world is turning fascist before our very eyes and the zombies just watch and drool...

I am surprise the Pefloosie didn’t put some requirement that scales be attached to vending machines or entries of McDonald’s that would refuse service for being too fat.

No beef farms in Sweden? I hear that yak (Bos grunniens) do pretty good in those colder climates.

They classify local beef lower than if it’s flown in or purchased/butchered in other countries.

I wish they did that here, the local produce is required to say where the country of origin is, but not for other items.

I like knowing that I’m supporting garlic farmers in Gilroy rather than Red China!

But rating something according to its “greenness” is but one step to banning it, methinks.

See ya’,

Those Swedes don’t know what they’re missing when they denigrate a nice juice yakburger or yak steak.

The existing Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students states:

Participating schools are responsible for selecting scholarship recipients, making reasonable determinations of need, and providing scholarships that do not exceed the cost of attendance (tuition, reasonable educational expenses and reasonable living expenses).

The Federal Grant Wire web site describes Program Number 93.925 existing use restriction as:

Schools are required to agree that, in providing scholarships under this program, preference shall be given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds for whom the costs of attending the school would constitute a severe financial hardship.

The new health care bill describes

...individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among primary care professionals);

Can anybody explain what the intent here is? The term "disadvantaged" is not defined. Without the additional clarification, would racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among primary care professionals somehow be excluded?

The people in Congress actually believe they OWN everything and everyone. You work for them so they can spend your taxes which are withheld from what you would have earned had they not had their hands in your pockets. You live by the rules they lay down, even if they rewrite them to prove they are working. The rewriting has produced an arcane tax system and regulation of regulations of regulations.
