Since Angelina Jolie adopted her daughter Zahara in 2005, the number of Americans adopting Ethiopian children has quadrupled.

A pop-media obsession with celebrities adopting children in Africa has resulted in a queue of adopting foreigners dealing with opportunistic adoption agents in operating in a regulatory vaccuum. In Ethiopia - and beyond - its creating a heartbreaking mess.

PLEASE CLICK PLAY THE VIDEO: I am horribly upset, having jumped through hoops at the U.S. State Dept, and called the Attorney General's office in Florida, how U.S. Adoption Agency Celebrate Children International, Oveido, Florida, can operate under the guise of 'christian' tax deductions, and offer children to the WEB world for cash, and not give AMPLE, VERIFIABLE PROOF BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT, that these children are in TRUTH orphans, and not just some huckster in the BUSH of the Sub Sahara desert, stimulating the Ethiopian ecomony with 100 million dollars a year, leaving devastation of broken homes, and making people like Madonna....STARLETS who 'saved'. I wrote to the Orlando Sentinel, a Senator in Florida, the Embassy, and all we get is the runaround. Can't wait to see how GOOD these same bureaucrats are going to be doing our medical services.

I'd love to know WHO to contact to get to the very bottom of this mess, and stop exporting innocent children, that are being encouraged to 'come WEST', and give their kids a whole new start.

Our own personal situation is that we lost $5.750 dollars, and got the contract cancelled because we wanted a 2nd opinion that Celebrate Children International would not allow any 3rd parties to visit the homes to verify orphan status. The Ethiopian U.S. Division for Children in Crisis, says it's a STATE ruling in Florida, and they can't step in. I've done 5 International adoptions, and I know very much as a FACT, that the temptations to make lots of money off of young adults who would pay ANYTHING to adopt a child.

I have heard of this happening in other countries.

I know a Russian immigrant family who said that it was very common in Russia.

People wanted healthy, well adjusted children and the children in orphanages didn’t fit the bill but children that came from intact families were much easier to place.

So what these criminals would do would be to steal/kidnap babies and toddlers. Young enough to be cute and in high demand.

And also young enough to not be able to talk....

When this family had to go to Moscow for paperwork related to their coming over here, they were terrified and everybody in the family kept a close eye on the youngsters and held onto them tightly.

Here is another link to a similar article from FOXNews.

I don’t know how this article escaped notice on FR for so long, but it’s worthy of a ping anyway.
