I think he was given life only because he cooperated with the prosecutor in describing the horrific tortures they inflicted!
Yeah, soon we will hear Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson screaming that this was a lynch job by a mostly white jury. Though maybe with this case they will have finally bitten off more than they can chew.
