Newt’s done a lot of great work for the conservative cause. He’s forgotten more than most of us put together will ever know about American history. He pulled off quite an historic move back in ‘94. Give him his due. That said, he’s out to lunch on NY-23. If he ever plans to run for president, he cannot get the nomination unless he moves off of scuzzy and gets behind Hoffman.

I’d rather Newt keep to his convictions and stay w/his support for RINO Dede.

As for as Newt having any aspirations for political office, he might win if he runs on the democrat ticket. He’s aligned himself w/the rats for quite awhile. I’d rather him be happy and the Republication Party be clean of RINO’s - as much as possible.

As far as ‘his due’ - that was fifteen+ years ago - should it be a lifetime award? Reminds me of McCain ‘give him his due’. When they have offered nothing else, we should hang on that accomplishment - like that ‘one’ thing defines them.

I really think Newton had little to do with the 1994 outcome; it was a reaction against Clintonism. Most people in November 1994 had never heard of Gingrich, who was then the minority whip in the House. He did not follow through under his Speakership. Newton even said that he “melts” in the presence of Bill Clinton.

THAT was THEN. THIS is NOW.

Some people mellow with age - they turn into LIBS.

Newt is no good in my book anymore.
