Tymoshenko: Don’t panic during flu epidemic
Yesterday at 15:38 | Ukrainian News Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has called on politicians, civil servants, and leaders of all levels not to allow panic during the A(H1N1) flu epidemic in Ukraine.
Tymoshenko said this during the conference call meeting on Saturday.
“I am applying to leaders of all levels not to allow any panic,” Tymoshenko said.
She said some mass media and officials with powers have started to release incorrect information about spread of some exotic diseases, including the pneumonic plague.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has called on the heads of the central and local authorities to provide people with trustful information about the nature of A(H1N1) flu.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, First Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov called on the population not to panic during the A(H1N1) flu epidemic.
The Health Ministry on October 30 declared the A(H1N1) flu epidemic throughout Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers has introduced quarantine in nine regions, banned organization of mass events, and closed schools for three weeks because of the epidemic influenza.

Death toll from viral pneumonia in Ivano-Frankivsk region rises to 12

The number of those who have died from viral pneumonia in Ivano-Frankivsk region has increased to 12 people, Governor Mykola Paliychuk has said.
“Twelve deaths have been registered,” he said at a briefing on Monday.
He also said that 35,000 people are in hospital, and 52 of them are in intensive care units.
He said that 11 more people had recently been admitted to intensive care units.
As reported, ten people have died of viral pneumonia in Ivano-Frankivsk region as of November 1 since the start of the outbreak.
