Costco response: --------------------------------------------------------- Dear , Thank you for your e-mail to Costco Wholesale. At times we publish articles that may be seen as controversial to some and acceptable to others. It is our policy to let our members decide what is acceptable by what they choose to read. Our member’s opinions and views on personally controversial persons or articles are always welcome and their refusal to purchase any products or read any article for personal, political, or religious reasons is respected and honored. In terms of the articles we publish in the magazine, our coverage has included – and will continue to include- everyone from Tim LaHaye to Howard Stern. Again, we rely on time for the balance and on each member’s judgment to choose what he or she wants to read. We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments with us. Thank you, Stacey Costco Wholesale Corporation --------------------------------------------------------

This is the same BS they placed in their magazine. What they left off was the dig at Glenn Beck and their praise of Al Gore. Here was my reply I sent Costco yesterday:

I’m dismayed and disappointed to see Costco Connection caught up in the environmental propaganda of global warming. Paying large “carbon tax” does not solve a problem of not having enough fuel. Solar, wind and geothermal energy will not be enough. We will simply not have enough power to fuel all those electric cars unless we tap our vast reserves and follow Europe in building nuclear power plants or clean coal. Something Al Gore and the environmentalists don’t want to do. (How many nuclear plants were built while he was vice president?) There is something unseemly of environmentalists like Al Gore, touting a energy crisis while owning vast estates and flying all over the globe to promote solutions in which he stands to make billions of dollars on if implemented.

Editor David Fuller seems to justify this article by saying Costco Connection gave equal time to Glenn Beck when they allowed him to promote his book “in a full-page paid advertisement in last month’s issue”. Really??? Then he took a cheap shot in suggesting Al Gore must have more stature since he “has both a Nobel Peace Prize and the title of vice president”. Well, as we saw recently, Nobel Peace Prizes can be awarded for no reason and a nightly 2.5 million television viewing audience has far more people talking than the current vice president. I’d suggest you give Glenn Beck equal time since you promote “balance”.
