KENT, Conn. Peter Gadiel wants everyone to remember his son, James, who was killed during the September 11 terrorist attacks.
And he also wants people to remember how he died: "Murdered by Muslim terrorists."
For Gadiel, any tribute to his son would be woefully incomplete without those words.
"I think it's important, because I think there's a nationwide effort to suppress the identity of the people who were involved in the attacks," Gadiel told Fox News.
Eight years ago, 23-year-old James Gadiel worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 103rd floor of the World Trade Center. He died when a hijacked plane crashed into the North Tower.

Should have been part of the excerpt:
Town officials call the phrase too controversial for a small town memorial, and they recently voted against erecting the plaque if Gadiel insists on the language.
Truth.
“For Peter Gadiel, it is a central fact of the Sept. 11 attacks that is often left out.
“It isn’t just overlooked, it’s suppressed,” Gadiel said. “It’s simply wrong to imply that people just died. The buildings didn’t just collapse, they didn’t just fall down they were attacked by people with a specific identity, a specific purpose.”

“Muslims have to acknowledge that it was their co-religionists who committed this act in their name,” he said. “I am offended that unlike so many others, they refuse to acknowledge that it was their people who did this.”
Considering that if you walk through many of our older cemeteries (morbid hobby of mine) and read the tombstones, you will find many inscriptions far worse than this.
Some communities are afraid of the truth and refuse to recognize 9/11 for what it was.
Great quote.
I heard this man on the radio. He is doing justice to his son’s memory, and making sure the rest of us do not forget either.
This kind of political correctness runs all the way up to the President and his ilk.
They want to look at acts of terrorism the same way one looks at an earthquake, hurricane, or tsunami.
It isn’t. It is MURDER. Cold blooded MURDER. To call it anything else is a disgrace and an invitation.
With the people in charge, we have both disgrace and invitations.
Freedom of speech is effectively controlled by activists and politicians who write bills that reward them for their support and donations. If ever this nation needed prayer for massive corruption, the destruction of an ever-increasing number of things we hold near and dear to our hearts about our country, and not to worry if we wear a cruifix or a flag lapel pin (heaven forbid a real flag on our home's flagpole), anything we say or do being "hate speech" or "racist," it is now.
If everyone wrote on their loved one’s tombstone how they died, the cemeteries would be filled to capacity (with visitors). I think his idea is a great one, but I can see where things could get pretty sensational in a hurry. “Jumped by three college kids with gleaming knives,” “Raped and killed by a sexual predator,” “Russian roulette!” “Couldn’t get out of Ted Kennedy’s car,” and so on.
I really need to hear what President Bush's actions were regarding this before I could make that kind of condemnation.
What part of the wording is untrue?
Since when is the truth "controversial?"
Idiots

Sorry. I could not disagree with you more vigorously on the tone of your post.
What Bush did or didn’t say about terrorism has NO BEARING WHATSOEVER on what is going on today.
Yeah, his “Islam is a religion of peace” references are old. Perhaps it would have made it easier for our troops in combat in muslim countries to deal with a populace that is much more antagonistic and violent because the leader of our country refers to all of them as a bunch of bloodthirsty murderers. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind a little pandering to “the religion of peace” if it helps save the life of even one of our men.
If you have issues with President Bush’s approach to terrorism, fine. But you show me where he ever tried to airbrush terrorism by reducing it to a police matter or referring to counterterrorism or the global war on terrorism as an “overseas contingency operation” or terrorism itself as “man caused disasters” BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IS DOING.
Doe Eyes, it isn’t Bush’s fault forever. If you can’t look at this administration’s approach to terrorism, international relations or anything else and judge it on its own merits, then you shouldn’t be wasting your time judging it.
