Oh my. That reminds me of Michelle Obama saying on the presidential campaign trail that she never thought of military families before—even though she’d been the wife of a state senator and then U.S. senator since the nation had gone to war in 2001.

Gibbs also said that 11 of the 17 who denied permission had decided before they knew Obama would be there. Apparently his presence did not persuade those eleven to change their minds. Nor did it persuade the six 'undecided' families.
