Just in case your survey of the world scene has left you with a residue of cheerfulness, below is a video of a talk given by Lord Christopher Monckton at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, last week that should complete your gloom.
The ostensible subject was the United Nations Copenhagen Climate Treaty, scheduled to take place in December. Anyone who doubts that environmentalism has become one of the most potent weapons in the quiver of the international Left should take a look at some of the treatys proposed provisions. Basically, it is a wealth transfer scheme in which rich countries send money to poor countries because they, the rich ones, have (so the story goes) done more to insult the environment. (Isnt the real story that they have enriched the entire world beyond imagining? Yesbut that contravenes the left-wing narrative.) Take a look at what the U.N. has in store for you: It has to be read to be believed.
[....]
What does it all mean? Lord Monckton gives an appropriately scary summary in his talk. Chief items:
> Creation of a world government.
> Massive transfer of wealth form the countries of the West to the Third World countries to satisfy climate debt.
> Enforcement.
Regarding the last, Lord Monckton has this to say:
"How many of you think that the word election or democracy . . . or ballot occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of the treaty? Quite right it doesnt appear once. . . . Now the apotheosis is at hand. They are about to impose a Communist world government on the world. You have a President who has very strong sympathies with that point of view."

Our beloved president represents the core beliefs of the internationalist left, whose goal is the destruction of our Constitution and our national sovereignty?
Who knew?
As things currently stand, the office of the President does not have the authority to unilaterally sign binding treaties like this. As loony-left as the congress is, most would not permit such a document to gain any sort of traction in the legislature. Should US citizens be concerned that the President would consider such a treaty? You bet, but currently there is little reason to think this would ever go any further.
If you are relying on any provisons of the U. S. Constitution to restrain Mr. Obama or to compel the Senate to reject whatever comes out of Copenhagen, I fear you will be disappointed.
There is absolutely no consitutional authority for the medical insurance dictatorship that is even now being imposed on us, but that means nothing.
Apparently you have yet to connect the dots between the cap and tax, the avowed commies like Van Jones --whose Apollo Alliance wrote the framework of the cap and tax-- the democrat party agenda to place America under U.N. governance, and the current legislation being generated from commie directed source right through Pelosi and Reid.
Did you realize that Harry Reid thanked Apollo Alliance for helping to write the Stimulus bill which was aimed at strengthening union and social justice aspects of the leftist agenda at the extreme expense of the taxpayers as passed to be paid for only by extending our national debt load?
Did you realize that the cap and tax is already in effect in Europe and this December initiative is designed to bring America under the same 'address man-made global climate change via world governance over this specific issue' agenda?
The Congress endorsed a man who is likely not even eligible according to the Constitution so you can bet the Constitution is an abrogated contract with the communist/fascist democrat Congress!
Obama is a dual citizen from birth, so not a natural born citizen, and this same leftist congress and scotus knew it before the primaries! Ask yourself if the founders would have endorsed a British subject --200 years after revolting against the British King in order to become free of Britain-- to ascend to the office of President of the United States.
And you naively assume these same lying democrat bastard will not slip the shiv in between your 'we the people' ribs while they have the government in their control? Have you missed the efforts by democrats to subvert sovereignty of we the people, to be ruled by a federal oligarchy run by the democrats? Do you really trust these lying sob's to that extent? ... Are you really that easily fooled, or just sowing dissonance, to prevent attention from being focused upon these criminal, anti-Constitution democrats?
Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, includes the Treaty Clause,
[The President] shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur....
That’s 67 Senators voting “Yes”. If this treaty is as bad as they say it is there is no way it will get 67 votes.
788 Chrysler dealerships which donated primarily to Republicans were closed down by the czarist regime. Was that Constitutional?
The czarist regime instituted a 'cash for clunkers' program fashioned ont he German model, which cost taxpayers approx $23,000 per car covered int he scam. Was that Constitutional?
The czarist regime with Congressional blessing took GM and placed it under union control/ownership, by and large. Was that Constitutional?
The Congress shut down federal dollars to ACORN ... yuntil the end of October, when the funding will resume. Was that Constitutional?
The federal reserve is monetizing the debt and the czarist regime has taken the setting of executive pay as the purview of the White House. Is that Constitional?
The Congress is writing a bill that will take over the healthcare industry and penalize the insuring companies giving their employees the best healthcare. Is that Constitutional?
I could continue with this list of unConstitutional moves endorsed by Republicans as written by democrats. Do you really believe this government is operating 'constitutionally'? Have you as a member in particular of we the people been allowed to vote on whether you want to crush the American economy under unsustainable debt which can't even be paid off by your grandchildren? Think about the naivete of trusting the Congress which has already proven itself criminally violating the Constitutional contract between we the people and the federal government.
B T T T
Congress would have to pass this.
