It is enough to make someone sick.
Obama: Be honest, how’d I look?
Aide: Very presedential, Sir.
Obama: Not too over the top?
Aide: No, Sir right on the money.
Obama: I was going to bite my lip or feign sadness, but I thought that was too Clintonian.
Aide: No, Sir you nailed it.
Obama: O.K., good where’s the next photo op today?
their happy to get a package. I mostly send stuff I get for Free at Walgreens or CVS or some deal I have done.
here is a tip. Walgreens goes 75% off on Halloween stuff on Sunday.
Grab some great stuff at a cheap price.
I didn’t even know Obama golfed... I thought Tiger was... never mind...
At least Bush gave up golf after Sergio DeMello was killed...
Unfortunately, your scenario is way too believable.
Not smart to piss off soldiers.
How do you get the names of the soldiers (all other branches are included). One of the reasons I haven’t sent packages before is that I heard the post office will return any letter or package that isn’t addressed to a specific person.
I had heard that the military would appreciate books — any kind of books. We have a couple of thrift shops plus a used book store in our town where we could get lots of books for a little money (new ones run about $8 and we couldn’t afford too many of those). Do you think they would want something like that?
Go To Anysoldier.com. Click on “where to send”.
The soldiers sign up and write posts about what they want. Some say very little. Some post pictures . Some post frequently. Some not so much. You can search on the word “books” and see who wants them. Some don’t want them because they have too many and they will usually say that.
If you want a real glimpse into the war read their posts and look at the pictures. When I first started I was shocked. Sometimes they are rationed to one MRE a day. When I see that I try to send food.
Use the deals at Walgreens and CVS to help spread your budget. This month I got a ton of stuff for the cost of tax.
sometimes I pick solders who get no mail, sometimes the medics, sometimes starving soldiers...etc.
I just came from the grocery store, and there was a life size picture of a handsome Marine. The mother of this Marine has set up collection boxes at various places around town to collect items to send over-seas. Of course, I had to add to it even though I sent the other boxes. It breaks my heart to think of these young men and women, who are giving so much, don't get goodies or even cards from home.
This agenda is so obvious it’s ridiculous. They have a big problem with the military. About 75% or greater can’t stand either of them. That 75% includes military in the US and abroad.
The fact that she is courting them so desperately is troubling. I think they have intentions in the future and they are afraid if they can’t woo the military over to their side, they know they can’t accomplish what they intend to do. I don’t think they have any plans to ever leave the WH and certainly have NO intention of leaving in 3 years and they will do anything to stay there. They are loving their new “digs” as Barry called them.
The have no plans of giving up their new “movin’ on up” lifestyle.
It is jealousy my friend. People rise to the top and the left hates it.
You can get free shipping materials including tape from the post office. You have to order the Military kit over the phone with them.
Tape your boxes well. There is a theft problem . I undervalue my boxes on the customs form and use descriptions I hope wont invite thieves..and tape it like fort knox.
Sometimes you hear back from the soldiers via postal mail or email...but many times you don’t..send it on a wing and prayer....and know it is going to good use.
I went out to Walgreens today and bought fun stuff at 75% off. They like to have fun and use all kinds of stuff to do it. I don’t know what the monthly deals are yet for November at Walgreens but I have two HUGE totes full of Free Halls from October..as well as a bunch of other stuff that had free last month. I bought some skull mugs and am filling them up with Halls! Also handed Halls out last night and the parents were grabbing them right and left.
I know there will be a Ricola deal one week in November. I think $1 and get a $1 register reward.
Gosh, I hope no one takes anything out of the boxes we sent. They were taped well, but that's not going to stop them if someone really wants it. Damaging those boxes would be sacrilegious IMO.
The theory is that they will move on to an easier box to pillage. It takes some real effort to get into my boxes.
Walgreens - Almay Pure Blends Foundation is 9.99 and you get a $10 register reward back. This week there is a buy one get one 50%. Buy a pure blends eyeshadow for 7.99 (or it might be $7.49) less 50% off and get a 5 RR. Total 15 Register rewards. You pay a little less than $14.00 plus tax. If you are lucky, your store rings them up buy one get one free...but by the time you get there that might be fixed. I don’t know if it is the way it is suppose to ring up. We will see tomorrow. I bought a boat load of cosmetics for nothing..actually made money on the deal.
Btw, I didn’t try to roll the RR into the same deal. Most of the time it will cause your RR not to print if you do it.
These kinds of deals are how I am able to send a lot of boxes to soldiers. Yes, soldiers like to feel girly, too - at least the female ones..don’t know about the male ones ;-)
