I had a very unpleasant experience with a recent admission to a hospital. The medications given caused frequent trips to the bathroom. With the use of only one arm, (the other arm was stearing an IV pole) I needed help in the bathroom, and the only nurse's aids I had were MALE...sorry, but what the hell has happened to the availability of female nurse's aids in hospitals (also known as Patient Service Aids)? Female nurses/nurse's aids YES! Males NO! IMHO.

Many male patients might prefer a male aide so it works for them. But you can always ask if someone of the same sex is available and the hospital should accomodate if feasible.
