Donors got access to bowling alley, WH movies, Messina [Report: W.H. Gave Donors VIP Access]

Donors got access to bowling alley, WH movies, Messina

It turns out that the White House-complex bowling alley might be the new Lincoln Bedroom.

[Getting Dem pushback on the lede -- the argument being that the perks weren't part of a formal fundraising program like the Clintons' Lincoln bedroom arrangement.]

Matthew Mosk of the Washington Times sifts the records and finds that President Obama's high-rolling donors got access to a ten-pin alley, the White House movie theater and the Oval.

The big shots were also treated to an in-person West Coast briefing on health care reform by Jim Messina, one of Obama's point men on the Hill.

During his first nine months in office, President Obama has quietly rewarded scores of top Democratic donors with VIP access to the White House, private briefings with administration advisers and invitations to important speeches and town-hall meetings.

High-dollar fundraisers have been promised access to senior White House officials in exchange for pledges to donate $30,400 personally or to bundle $300,000 in contributions ahead of the 2010 midterm elections, according to internal Democratic National Committee documents obtained by The Washington Times.

Is this being coordinated by the secretary of state’s office?

The White House statement adds, “Aside from a small group of appointments that cannot be disclosed because of national security imperatives or their necessarily confidential nature (such as a visit by a possible Supreme Court nominee), the record of every visitor who comes to the White House for an appointment, a tour, or to conduct business will be released.”

However, this new policy will only cover visitors to the White House beginning Sept. 15. Those who visited from Jan. 20 through Sept. 15 will not be part of this policy change. The Associated Press reports that the White House’s counsel office “will respond to individual requests for records during that time, but only if those requests are deemed to be reasonable, narrow and specific.”

The story that started it.

EXCLUSIVE: Democratic donors rewarded with W.H. perks

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/oct/28/democratic-donors-rewarded-with-wh-perks/?feat=home_features

If the Wash Times would not have reported this Politico would just be talking about this fluff piece:

Obama will declare “change is possible” in the Rose Garden Wednesday.

Seems to me that only the donors or “fundraisers” are the ones going to jail when this corruption gets uncovered.

Remember Air Force 1’s Manhatten dive-bombing mission? Did we ever find out who was aboard at the time..?

“sounds like the Clintons...”

Wonder how many ChiCom checks have been passed in the Oval Office? After all, the Kenyan is allowing the Commerce Dept to sell secrets to China again.

What is it about Democrats, that they so love to abuse the privilege of the Whitehouse to pay off political supporters?
