Alston's warning comes as President Barack Obama is weighing how to overhaul the U.S. approach to the Afghan conflict.

These representatives of Depotic Regimes have judged Obama to be a weak leader.

They are testing him. They are guessing that by merely suggesting that our methods are illegal that Obama will forbid their use.
