Davy Crockett was just at 6 ft. and he was considered to be tall. Sam Houston at about 6'6: was almost a giant.

Anybody that wants to romanticize the old ways needs to spend a day getting acquainted w/ a pick ax, or a scythe.

They don't call a shovel the "ignert spoon" for nuthin'.

“What if the contestants had to make their own weapons?”

I know how to make a cannon out of duct tape. Thank you Mythbusters.

“It has only been during the past thirty years or so, I swear, that there have been so many fat people.”

I saw an article a while back on the “It’s a Small World” ride at Disneyland. It was built for the 1964/1965 New York World’s Fair, then moved to Disneyland in California where it’s been ever since. The ride works by moving the guests in boats along a water-filled trough (like a logging flume). The boats have had to be redesigned and rebuilt recently because they weren’t holding up. They worked fine in 1964 but the passengers have gotten so much heavier since then...

I can remember reading that Chinese Coolies ran all day with 300 pounds balanced on the bar on their shoulders, and that stevedores used to carry 300 pound hogsheads up rickety gangplanks...

“It has only been during the past thirty years or so, I swear, that there have been so many fat people.”

...I started noticing it about then myself...another thing I began to see was men’s clothing makers started making bigger sizes....calling them ‘relaxed fit”....sounds better than saying Fat Boy pants.

You have something to say?

Didn’t think so.

You have heard the saying: Only in America are poor people fat. Blame it on food stamps? They go to the store and stock up on junk food.

That reminds me of one of my ancestors was building a log cabin...

I'm not sure if you know who Dick Proenneke is, but your post reminded me of him. Granted, he didn't sleep in the open when building his cabin, but I think you'll be surprised by the similarities. PBS did adocumentary about him called "Alone in the Wilderness." I've seen it numerous times and I never tire of it.

Google if you're interested.

"You have something to say? Didn’t think so....and to think that only the fittest survive is LUDICROUS...",

You have something to say? Didn't think so.

And to think that what exists actually supports evolution is LUDICROUS.

Unless you engage in logical fallacy...

“Evolution has no meaning. Natural selection has no meaning. Survival of the survivors has no meaning.”

—You’d have a point if Natural Selection was a theory about who survives – but it’s not. It’s a theory that says that survival and reproductive success are not completely random (something that even most YECs agree with) and what occurs as a result of that differential reproductive success (the part they disagree with).
