My daughter was found to have extremely low levels of D, so her doctor prescribed a massive dose for several weeks. Months later, when she was re-tested, her level had already dropped too low again. Perhaps some people have more trouble maintaining a good level of D than others do. I’m always bugging her now to spend more time in the sun and take supplements. (Hey, I’m a mom... it’s what I do!)

Mr. Peel is diabetic, and needed 5 injections of insulin a day. We've radically changed our diets and now he's down to 1 injection a day. The last time he was tested for his AIC, I requested a Vitamin D test at the same time. His Vit D level was extremely low, so the Dr prescribed 50,000 units of Vit D once a week for 12 weeks. We're into week 3. His blood sugar numbers in the mornings are now in the high 80s, so we've decreased the last injection of insulin from 30 units to 25.
